CANON AND IMAGERY CONCEPTS SPONSOR JUNIOR
ACHIEVEMENT'S
NATIONAL VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION PROGRAM
TULSA, Okla. - Tulsa-based Imagery Concepts announced today
that Canon Computer Systems (Inc.) has joined them in sponsoring
Junior Achievement's National Volunteer Recognition Program.
To kick off the program, Canon is presenting a $97,500 check
to Junior Achievement, Inc. to help fund the distribution of
approximately 250,000 donated Home Organizer™ software
systems as gifts of appreciation to JA volunteers and teachers
nationwide.
The presentation will be held at the Junior Achievement National
Headquarters and Service Center in Colorado Springs, CO, at 10
a.m. on May 4, 2000.
Both Imagery Concepts and Canon celebrate JA's commitment to
today's youth. Junior Achievement's strategic plan, ImpACT 2005,
states that the organization intends to reach 11 million students
by the year 2005.
With Canon's generous donation, Imagery Concepts is able to
assist JA in reaching its goals through the donation of the Home
Organizer™ software system JA volunteers and teachers.
Home Organizer™ is a document imaging system for personal
use that allows users to scan, retain and catalog important household
documents, a child's school work and photos, and personal communications
with instant retrieval.
Additionally, Imagery Concepts will make a donation to Junior
Achievement every time a JA teacher or volunteer purchases FILE•PIC,
an industry-specific system designed to organize small to medium
sized businesses.
"We are very grateful to Canon Computer Systems in helping
us recognize one of the most important parts of Junior Achievement
- our teachers and volunteers," said Jim Hayes, President
and CEO of Junior Achievement. "The company's commitment
to JA and support of our National Volunteer Recognition Program
is deeply appreciated."
"We are pleased to support Junior Achievement in their
mission to educate and inspire America's youth," said John
Arnos, Vice President of Sales for Canon Computer Systems. "Our
support of JA's National Volunteer Recognition Program will help
recognize and encourage the impact that these adults have on
young people."
"The primary purpose of our partnership with JA is to thank
teachers and volunteers for all their hard work and dedication
to educating students about business, economics, and free enterprise," said
Tom Quinn, President of Imagery Concepts.
